This path is difficult and sometimes discouraging. Unless ...
- You have a kidnapped daughter, over which they can write a book.
- Even cookbooks can still sell very well. Although I am always surprised that there are yet more new recipes.
- In recent years, appear again and again stories of abused women from other cultures on.
- And what flooded the market and the big publishers is dearest child, are translations from America and England. Because even the greatest nonsense (as we say in Austria) is translated, I have some examples at home - books that I start but never read to the end.
Most publishers charge a fee, which is pretty intense. When I first proposal was to cost sharing, left me the same courage and I wanted to tear up the manuscript.
But then I sent the manuscript to a major German publishing house. Again, I got the answer "we like to publish her book, but we need a cost-sharing of ...." (Not much).
Meanwhile, reported the first publisher to me with an offer to bring out an edition on my book. Without cost sharing, I would only buy 30 books himself. So I had agreed, because by now it was spring 2007.
Unfortunately, even the title I had for my book, since March 2007 by another author
been used and so I had to maybe once in a lifetime avoiding.
Now, my book on the market since July 2007 and I have been writing on other stories, but this time I try to mysteries.
A new publishing house is also in prospect, this time without a fee.
